Our goal is to help the tutees improve their work in terms of understanding, enjoyment and, above all, results. Some results are more easily measured than others-a good grade on a test, for example, or the ability to read and understand a difficult text. Other results may be more understated but are nonetheless essential: more self-confidence, more enthusiasm for school and a brighter attitude about the future. So how do we do it? All lessons are taught according to National Curriculum guidelines using a variety of teaching methods. The pupils are assessed on a regular basis, with regular written or verbal feedback to parents. One-to-one tuition allows the tutor to teach according to the pupils abilities and personality, leading to rapid progress. The pupil establishes a good working relationship with the tutor and gradually gains confidence making the tuition an enjoyable experience.
