For the first time in the course of a year of training, I really saw my improvement. In the traditional way of training, Sensei doesn't compliment us on our progress, but even if he did, it would be nothing in comparison to actually seeing it first hand!

Most of these were taken from newsgroups, so thanks to the people who posted them! These are not all "Discordian" games, but they all fit the Discordian ideals. In a large crowd, try to polymorph by convincing others that you are some animal. The best way to do this is by yelling, "I am (animal name here)!!!!!" and doing that animal's typical actions. Non-animal beings work also, though a toaster is hard to imitate. Meatball, Jedi Knight, Discordian Extrfnordinaire A traditional British Game played with a map of the London Underground. Extractions: Links We Like e-mail Jim, KNS, KSC, LDD, MWO One of the two founders of Discordianism and creator of the Principia Discordia. He was the High Priest of the POEE sect of Discordianism. He was last seen on a Californian beach, where it is rumored he spoke the words "Comes the dawn, the sun will rise in the West." He then proceeded to walk into the ocean, and has not been seen since. The other founder of Discordianism and helped create the Principia Discordia. He also was the Master Pastor of the Church Invisible of The Laughing Christ. Omar was the keeper of the Honest Book of Truth, about which not much is known. One of the 5 Apostles of Eris. Quite possibly the most famous of the apostles, at least after being incorporated into Illuminatus! A very little known fact that was discovered by Ordered Chaos Cabal was that Malaclypse invented snow boarding. He had been climbing Mount Olympus to see the Gods, and once he reached the half way point Eris showed herself to him in a vision. She informed Mal that the Gods were a dull bunch of wallflowers and that Mal would do best to just wander the Mediterranean area until he found a really swinging party. Mal took this advice to heart and crafted a board out of a tree that grew on the mountain, and riding the board he slid down the mountain in record time. Thus snow boarding was born.

The Five-College Discordian Society of Saint Rufus These are probably the most aneristic Discordians I've ever encountered, in that they seem to take the Principia Discordia and other elements of the religion a bit too seriously. (They even claim to have regular weekly meetings, for crying out loud.) Their fearless leader, Pope Max Flax Beeblewax , does have a few interesting commentaries on the Principia , though.

Date::Discordian exports two functions - and inverse_discordian. , when given a time value, returns a string, giving the Discordian date for the given day. , given a Discordian date in the same format that emits, returns an epoch time value. It is pretty picky about time format. Pity. I'm really not sure how this would ever be used, so if you actually use this, send me a note. You can find out more about the Discordian Calendar at http://www.concentric.net/~darkfox/DiscoCal.html and at a plethora of other sites on the Internet. It is related to the Principia Discordia (http://members.xoom.com/ffungo/titlepage.html) and the ``religion'' of Discordianism. I suppose that there are people that actually take this sort of thing seriously. But then, there are people that collect Beanie Babies, so what do you expect? AUTHOR

Discordian Karma Cabaret Discordia proudly presents Your Karma and You Karma is generallythought of as the summation of the effects your past actions http://users.ev1.net/~darkfox/karma.html
Extractions: K T he amount of Karma you have accumulated, then, is clearly a pretty handy thing to know. Unfortunately, it has always been really hard to get a good handle on your account balance. You generally get an End-Of-Life report, but by then it's a little late - you're already in hell or being re-born as a millipede. Similarly, in one-trip either-or religions, extra karma is worthless - if you make it into Heaven by a long shot, you've unecessarily missed out on opportunities for fornication, lewd thoughts, impiety, etc. W hich is why we here at Cabaret Discordia are proud to offer, free of charge, The Karmameter . With frequent use, The Karmameter can show you whether you need to clean up your act or let down your hair. Those who are terminally ill or leading a dangerous lifestyle (mountain climber, high school student) are encouraged to consult the Karmameter frequently to fine-tune their status to mitigate any buzzer-beating demerits.
A Discordian Overview Luckily for you, this isn't some flyby-night set of discordian pages- we have more versions of the book than you can shake a stick at. http://users.ev1.net/~darkfox/overview.html
Extractions: is the worship (or at least the possession of a reasonable amount of reverence for) the Greek Goddess Eris. Eris, it seems, was always pulling kooky stunts that confused the Greeks (and consequently the Romans, since they weren't too keen on original thought. As a matter of fact, the Romans didn't even bother to get to know Eris any better - they just renamed her "Discordia"). As a result, the ancients had a pretty negative attitude about Her. It was only in modern times (since there are so few ancients around any more) that She revealed to us her true nature. is a pretty easy religion, as far as religions go. You don't have to sacrifice much (unless you count indulging in a few games of sink , and that's not even mandatory). It does have a few rules , but nothing particularly bad happens to you if you break them, and in fact, transgressions are encouraged, as long as you do them in a funky way.

Discordian Zen centers on the Rite of Not Knowing as its basic manifestation [see below]. Performing the Rite of Not Knowing we enter into the realms of don't know mind. Letting go of our time and opinions, doing what appears, we become more flexible, less attached. Discordian Zen represents a new Zen manifes- tation.
